Privacy Policy – Pro Bookmark Viewer

1. Overview
Pro Bookmark Viewer is a New Tab replacement designed for a single purpose: to help you view and access your bookmarks more efficiently directly from your New Tab page. The Extension runs entirely in your browser and does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following types of data:
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, ID, etc.)
- Health information
- Financial or payment information
- Authentication information (passwords, tokens, PINs, etc.)
- Personal communications (emails, chats, messages, etc.)
- Location data (GPS, IP-based location, region, etc.)
- Browsing history or full web history
- User activity logs (keystroke logging, scroll tracking, mouse tracking, etc.)
- Website content (page text, images, audio, or video from sites you visit)
3. Chrome APIs Used
To provide its functionality, the Extension uses certain Chrome APIs locally in your browser:
- chrome.bookmarks – used to read your bookmark tree and display bookmarks in the New Tab interface. If you choose to add, edit, or delete a bookmark using the Extension, it performs the same operations you could do in Chrome’s native bookmark manager.
- chrome.topSites (optional) – used to display Chrome’s “Most Visited” sites section, if enabled in the Extension.
- chrome.tabs – used to open a bookmark or search result in the current tab when you click it.
All of these APIs are used locally in your browser. The Extension does not send your bookmarks, top sites, or tab information to any server controlled by us or any third party.
4. Search Suggestions
If you use the web search bar with suggestions enabled, the Extension may request search suggestions from:
https://suggestqueries.google.com/complete/search
Your typed query is sent directly from the browser to Google’s suggestion service to retrieve possible completions for your search. The Extension itself:
- Does not log or store these queries.
- Does not send them to any server that we control.
- Does not execute any remote code from this endpoint.
Your use of search suggestions may be subject to Google’s own Privacy Policy.
5. No Data Collection, Sale, or Sharing
The Extension does not:
- Collect or store any personal or sensitive user data.
- Sell or transfer user data to third parties.
- Use or transfer user data for any purpose unrelated to its single purpose (improving bookmark access on the New Tab page).
- Use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
6. Local Storage and Settings
The Extension may store configuration settings locally in your browser, such as:
- Selected grid size or layout
- Dark mode on/off
- Default search engine preference
- Visibility of “Most Visited” or “Recently Added” sections
These settings are stored using the browser’s storage mechanisms (e.g. localStorage or Chrome storage) solely to remember your preferences. This data never leaves your device and is not shared with anyone.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children and does not contain content specifically targeted at children. Because we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Extension or applicable requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Your continued use of the Extension after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
